Most shops close by six or seven, a little later on weekends. The best window is 4pm to sunset — browse the street, eat Hakka snacks, photograph the brick shophouses, and wrap before dark.

Daytime to dusk around low tide, when the boardwalk becomes a green tunnel; sunset photographs best. There's no lighting at night and access closes — don't go after dark.

TRA Hukou and Xinfeng stations link the area, about twenty minutes to Hsinchu Station; drivers take Provincial Highway 1 or the coast road. Old street and mangroves at dusk, then drive to Zhubei for dinner — that's the line.
